Sep 22, 3, 41 27, There are no video cards that need PCIe 3. It's a non issue. The cards need 75W to operate. The W rating takes into account higher powered CPUs and larger computers iwth more drive bays and expansion slots. Some of these come with a 6 pin PCIe connector for overclocking power which you won't want.Go to Solution. You will need a higher-capacity power supply for a video card in that class. View solution in original post.

Why not use the GTX Ti? It doesn't even need a external PSU; it just draws 75W from your motherboard. It performs almost as well as the GTX but you don't need to putter around with buying a new PSU and rewiring everything. You just take the card out and swap it. Or at least that's what I'm actually planning to do anyways.

I might be totally wrong so having somebody confirm would be great. Edit: You may actually want to check your power requirements. GT uses about 40 watts less power than the ti. Not sure if that will push you over the top. If you have a power supply with one or two six pin PCIe power connectors, then a ti might work. Browse Community. Turn on suggestions.

Will the power supply need to be upgraded also? May 2, 13, 41 75, 3, The picture is pointing at the desktop but you are saying sff which is the next step down. In either case, they are slim cases and will only fit low profile cards.

If you want a higher end card you will need to upgrade the case and psu. I forgot to add not only was i concerned if the card would fit physically in the SFF chassis, but also concerned if the card would make the PC run hot. I appreciate any help Nov 4, 1, 0 19, I don't think the card will physically fit in the SFF desktop. Also what is the wattage rating of that Dell the requires W minimum and does it have a 6 pin and an 8 pin pcie power plug both are required.
